SensoriMotor Studio
Our studio is a sensory‑rich sanctuary designed to support both the body and the nervous system. This is where movement becomes medicine, breath becomes grounding, and the environment itself becomes part of the healing process. With yoga trapeze swings, inversion therapy, aromatherapy, sound healing instruments, and instruction from a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy also certified in medical therapeutic yoga, the space invites regulation, play, strength, and rest — depending on what your system needs.
The studio operates on a seasonal rhythm that mirrors the cycles of nature, offering classes, workshops, and gatherings that shift with the energy of each season. While our clinical services run year‑round, the studio opens and closes intentionally to honor rest, renewal, and the natural ebb and flow of the year.

Our studio is designed for:
Caregivers seeking grounding, strength, or emotional regulation
Children who benefit from movement‑based sensory support
Individuals navigating stress, burnout, or emotional overwhelm
Anyone who wants to reconnect with their body in a safe, supportive environment
Families looking for a shared space where healing is accessible and embodied

Whether you’re brand‑new to movement or deeply experienced, our classes meet you where you are.
Who this is for
The Yoga & Somatic Studio is a core part of our integrated model. It complements — not competes with — the clinical and therapeutic services offered at The Self Centre.
Here’s how it fits:
While your child receives psychiatric or therapeutic care, you may attend a grounding class down the hall
Somatic practices may be recommended as part of your child’s treatment plan
Movement and sensory‑motor activities help children regulate between therapy sessions
Sound healing, breathwork, and yoga support caregivers in staying regulated during stressful seasons
Emotional support groups in the studio create a bridge between movement and connection
Seasonal rhythms help families build sustainable, long‑term wellness practices
This is not “extra.” It’s part of a whole‑family ecosystem of care.
Patient Choice & Sequenced Care
We honor autonomy, readiness, and the natural pacing of healing.
In the studio:
You choose the classes and practices that feel right for your body
Children can participate in sensory‑motor sessions that match their developmental needs
You can begin with gentle classes or jump into more dynamic offerings
Movement can be integrated before, during, or after clinical care — or stand alone
Seasonal scheduling allows you to engage deeply during active months and rest during quieter ones
You’re never pressured to “keep up” — the rhythm is designed to support, not overwhelm
Our role is to offer a supportive, sensory‑rich environment where your body and nervous system can find what they need.

Upcoming Winter Cycle 2/1 - 3/14
FEEL + HEAL
55 minutes • Capacity: 11 • Join anytime • $22 • Monday@2pm | Friday@9:30am
A quiet, grounding class designed to bring you home to your body. FEEL + HEAL blends somatic movement, breathwork, progressive relaxation, gentle stretching, guided visualization, body scanning, sound healing, and meditation. The room is intentionally dim, calm, and soothing — a soft landing place for your nervous system.
You’ll explore sensation, presence, and the subtle language of your body supported by a cushioned mat on the ground. Through the lens of polyvagal theory, you’ll learn simple practices to improve vagal tone, deepen body awareness, and cultivate self‑governance.
This class is offered throughout each 6‑week studio cycle and can be booked at any time. It’s an invitation to slow down, feel deeply, and reconnect with the innate healing intelligence within you.
Perfect for: beginners, nervous system support, grounding, emotional regulation, gentle movement, and anyone seeking a restorative reset.
HIIT + FLOW
55 minutes • Capacity: 11 • Join anytime • $22 • Sunday@6pm | Tuesday@6pm
A high‑energy, heart‑pumping class designed to build strength, endurance, and emotional release. HIIT + FLOW blends 45 minutes of interval training with 30–40 second isometric yoga holds, breath‑driven focus, and free‑flow movement.
Expect red lighting, bass‑heavy music (think trap, dubstep, trance), and an atmosphere that encourages sweat, endorphins, and cathartic expression. Some sessions may include stations reminiscent of classic circuit gyms, ecstatic dance breaks, shaking practices, and grounding breathwork to close.
This is the most physically challenging class in the studio — a place to move big, release stress, and feel fully alive.
Perfect for: those craving intensity, sweat, emotional release, and a powerful mind‑body workout.
EROS: SOMATIC VITALITY SERIES
70 minutes • Capacity: 7 • Committed 6‑week series • $132 ( $33/drop in and prorate option to join midway if space is available ) • Sunday@4pm | Monday@10am | Thursday@5pm
Eros is a 6 week committed series designed to help you reconnect with your inner vitality through sensori-motor practices, breathwork, and embodied exploration. Each session invites you to slow down, notice your internal landscape, and rebuild a relationship with the part of you that feels, creates, and responds with authenticity. Through guided movement, grounding rituals, and experiential learning, you’ll cultivate a deeper sense of aliveness, clarity, and emotional resilience. This series is for anyone ready to meet themselves with intention and rediscover or keep aflame the energy that moves beneath the surface of daily life. This small‑group, immersive experience is designed to strengthen the body, soften the heart, and build community over time. Limited to seven participants, EROS incorporates yoga trapeze swings for supported inversions, alignment work, and hands‑on guidance from a licensed physical therapist who is certified in medical therapeutic yoga.
Each class begins with a warm cacao or tea and a heart‑opening gratitude circle. From there, we move gently into full yoga postures and flowing sequences — sun and moon salutations, warrior sequences, standing shapes supported by the wall and swing, and breath patterns that mirror each movement. Props like blocks and foam rollers are woven in to deepen awareness and stability.
Class ends with isometric holds, Pilates‑inspired strengthening and sound elements with weighted eye pillows for deep release.
Each 6 week series includes an emotional theme supported by a shared book, gently introduced and optional to help you integrate wellness into daily life.
Perfect for: those wanting community, deeper embodied learning/practice, emotional support, and a consistent weekly ritual.
SOUND HEALING
60 minutes • Capacity: 12 • Join Anytime
A deeply restorative sound immersion led by Julie Simmons, a certified intuitive sound healer known for her ability to create a vibrational landscape that feels both ancient and otherworldly. Julie weaves together crystal singing bowls, chimes, ocean drum, gong, tuning instruments, and the subtle medicine of her own breath and humming to guide the body into profound states of rest.
During this session, you’ll lie comfortably as waves of sound move through and around you. These frequencies don’t just relax the mind — they interact with the body at a cellular level. Research in vibrational therapy suggests that sound can help regulate the nervous system, support cellular coherence, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes by shifting brainwave states and reducing physiological stress patterns.
Julie’s intuitive approach allows each session to feel unique, responsive, and deeply personal. It’s an opportunity to soften, release, and recalibrate — a sonic reset for the whole system.
Perfect for: deep relaxation, emotional release, nervous system support, meditation, and anyone seeking a gentle yet powerful healing experience.

To embody this philosophy, our year flows through intentional seasons of activity and restoration. We are “on” for 42 weeks each year (organized as 6 week cycles offered 7 times throughout the year) and “off” for 10 weeks, allowing practitioners, participants, and the studio itself to breathe, replenish, and return renewed with deeper presence and sustainable creativity.
